Paul Revere’s family earlier used to stay at a residence located near Clark’s Wharf and he used to work as silversmith in his personal shop. It was from this house that Paul Revere went out for his famous Midnight Ride to Lexington. It was on the evening of 18th April 1775 when he was a member of the Sons of Liberty. After the end of the revolution Revere paid a special attention to his business prospects and went to the extent of becoming one of the first big industrialists in America. Paul Revere’s House for a certain period of time has also served as a cigar store, a boarding house, green grocer and even an Italian bank. In the year 1902, a descendent of the Revere family bought the property and even went to the extent of forming a Paul Revere Memorial association with other members to bring back the lost glory to the house. The door of the house, which now houses a wonderful museum, was opened for the public on April 18, 1908. The museum offers the visitors a glimpse of some of the exquisite works of Revere.
